1. Well. It’s monday again. That means its business and networking day for me! I set up a meeting with everyone at the studio for this afternoon to plan out the rest of the week. We also need to plan and book models for a shoot tomorrow for a local retailer called “Spolied Chics, for their spring line.

    Weekend recap!

We had a super, super, busy weekend! Feels so good to sleep in today…ahhhhh

Friday - I spent the entire morning moving in new IKEA furniture and building it. I absolutely hate their instructions…but i managed. Once the afternoon rolled around Edwin Shaw’s clients arrived! Pageant winners, Miss PA and Miss teen PA needed autograph cards made. Edwin does an amazing job with the pageant industry and it’s a no-brainer for the girls to come to him for his expertice. He is a truly fluid and technical photographer. I have a lot to learn from him. While he was shooting Miss teen, i was lucky enough to snap off a couple of shots of Miss PA on the top floor of the studio building.

Saturday- More of a laid back day. Edwin had to shoot some comp-card style shots for another Pageant girl. I spend the afternoon building more IKEA stuff (joy) while Edwin and Natosha worked on the girls shots. My friend Mia came in and Tosh started practicing and doing her hair. Obviously this turned into an impromptu headshot since her hair and makeup looked awesome! We wrapped around 11pm and got stuff cleaned up for my Sunday shoot.

Sunday - 10am back to the studio for my shoot with Seven Story Fall! My friend Wesley Grim recommend the band to shoot with me via Twitter last year and it finally happened. The band just got back from their trip in LA to recored their new EP. Get ready to hear some amazing new stuff. It was an early morning for the band since they made their drive all the way from Michigan to shoot with my team! Another long day but it paid off with some really cool shots of everyone!

  2. Hey everyone! Just a small update on what’s new. I have been collaborating with one of my good friends who will be joining me in my studio. He is deeply involved in the pageant industry and does great work! He is a very driven person and I am excited to work with him in future projects. Check out his Facebook page

I am also planning to create my first book. It’s a personal project that i’ve been wanting to start for a year now and finally brought myself to action. I can’t release anymore information on it yet but i am truly excited about it!

Also, I am also in the process of developing some video projects =)

  4. Pictures i took of my buddies Lamborghini LP700 Aventador. I had the privilege to drive a lot of cars that i probably will never be able to afford in 2011. This was by far my favorite.

Check out his youtube channel to see videos of my friends and I!

  7. Sometimes you can just pick up a friend, walk around, and get cool shots. Don’t over think it. Shoot and share.

  8. How i shot it #2

Another quick lighting set up. This was done in studio in between a shoot.

One of the models walked past the light source in the corner of the room and i really liked the way it backlit her. I noticed the rolling cart and decided to throw some of my equipment and bags on it as props. You can see an old 4x5 in the background ;) I like to dirty up the frame so i added a couple of c-stand in the foreground. I dragged a continuous fluorescent light in a medium soft box and had it light the cart from about 6 feet away. I grabbed the model and had her sit and told her to follow the camera. I moved around until i saw the light i wanted and shot 5 frames. This shot took all of 5 minutes =)

    Camera was a 5D II with a 85L at 2.0. ISO speed of 1250.

  9. Meanwhile…in ‘07

I started messing with cars and pulling motors apart when i was 16. I love working on them and learning how to improve them. I remember when i used to spend entire days online researching about them (still do). Above are a couple of pictures from when i was 17. At the time i was driving a bug eye WRX. I was determined to run the stock turbo record which was a low 12 second quarter mile. After numerous modifications and hours of street tuning my motor finally spun a rod bearing. I didn’t have the money to buy a new car or to pay someone to rebuild it so i took it upon myself to rebuild it in my garage. That was a painful month.

It’s funny how quickly stuff changes when you are young. You make decisions thinking that the next morning you will still feel the same.. but that’s never the case. Here i am..I’ll be 23 in less than a week and everything has changed.
