How many people do you need to like your work?

You can’t target your work. The only people you can target your work to is people whom you already have worked with before.
You will never know what your employer is looking for when they are looking to hire someone. The only thing you can do is show them what you’re truly like through your work. You have to be present in your photograph so that others can get a feel of what they will get. This will automatically change the quality and the overall look and feel of your images. Forget about having a ‘style’. I can bring up anyones photograph and shoot work with the same color range, retouching, filter…etc. When an art director looks at your work he/she looks at the content. The ‘style’ will always come last. They want to have a personal connection to your image that will get them off their ass and call you to work.
There are close to 20,000 advertising employers in the US that could hire you to do you job. How many of those would you need to have a good year?
Shoot the work that shows you. Shoot it again. Share it and promote the shit out of it. Repeat. This will get you work that you are naturally good at producing.
